Bike Information

If you are an enrolled student, bikes are extremely useful for getting from class to class. A tight schedule is all but too common for University students and sometimes a bike is necessary. Otherwise, for the people of Laramie, biking is a great form of exercise, and usually a good mode of transportation in this somewhat close knit town.

At the end of the semester, any unregistered bikes are usually taken in by the University police. Keep in mind these bikes are usually claimed only on campus grounds. After these bikes are claimed there is a sale where they sell the bikes to the people of the town for cheap prices. So if you are new, and need a bike for cheap, go check it out!

On a different subject, here in Laramie, bike are highly promoted and often encouraged. Throughout the town you will find biking lanes on the roads, which gives bikers their own space when traveling around town.

Even though this is a given fact, it’s still important to think about. Bikes are a great way to reduce exhaust fumes from vehicles! They are much more eco-friendly and encourage exercise. And on the plus side, you don’t have to pay for gas, which if you are a college student, that is a huge bonus and incentive!

One thing to always keep in mind with biking is safety. It is always good practice to wear a helmet, and be cautious on the road. Using your specified biking lanes and knowing the correct hand signals to show where you are going will keep you safer in your biking travels.
